Edina City Council restricts times for recreational fires

Edina, Minn., Sept. 7, 2006 – Recreational fires are no longer allowed after 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday in Edina.

In response to the number of noise and smoke complaints the City has received, the Edina City Council in August voted to restrict the hours of recreational fires. Effective Sept. 1, recreational fires are not allowed 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday or between midnight and 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Fires that become a nuisance are required by City ordinance to be extinguished as outlined in the Recreational Fires Permit.
