Limited Edition Prints

A good watercolor, according to Doug Lew, possesses three qualities: an evidence of the artist's skill and control of the medium, an attractive and well thought out composition and a certain emotional quality that makes it all appealing - something that makes one go back and look at it again and again.

By itself, Edinborough Park stands as one of the most contemporary creative park concepts of our time. The park breathes with stunning emotion, talent and beauty from its architecture to the performances held in its amphitheater. To capture this ambience and venue became the task of Doug Lew in a commemorative limited edition print. Lew's ability and style of encompassing many moods is accomplished with depth and delightful curiosity in the Edinborough Park print.

To capture the memory of the 1987 opening of the park, Lew spent time taking photographs, walking through the park and completing more than 10 hours of preliminary sketches during the event itself and two months in his studio before turning over a final rendering of the finished painting.

Lew's fluid and flexible use of watercolor depicts, with almost unlimited dimension, the depth and high-powered landscaping features of the Park. Intrigued with the curiosity of looking beyond, Lew's painting is truly "something that makes one go back and look at it again and again."
