Mary mcnaughton

Dr. Mary McNaughton’s experience with drawing and painting is extensive. While raising her children she began her career by exhibiting paintings in oil and watercolor. While at the University of Minnesota, Mary earned a B.A. in Studio Art, a Master’s in Design and her Ph.D in Applied Design Research. The emphasis throughout her studies has been drawing.

Dr. McNaughton has taught within the Minnesota Community College system, the University of Minnesota and its outreach program for fifteen years. For the past three, she has been researching and writing on the subject of drawing. While lecturing and sharing her passion for the subject she has developed a considerable following of students. She currently exhibits her own work using the principles she has taught for many years.

Dr. McNaughton teaches basic drawing and color drawing at Edina Art Center.
