"I
started my work with clay at the Edina Art Center when I was eleven. As
a teenager I spent many hours in the studio getting to know clay. I went
to the University of Minnesota where I met my husband Joe in the
ceramics program. We established a home studio in the Nokomis area of
Minneapolis. I use a mid range stoneware clay and paint with various
slips and under glazes before carving. I fire to cone six in an electric
kiln. My designs and motifs are simple and clean. I draw my inspiration
from textiles, historical ceramics and our natural world."
