Don Clay
“My
background started with programming and teaching on the old Apple PCs in
the late 70s and creating many greeting cards for relatives (Pre-Macs).
In the mid 80s, I started using still photography. I became a school
newspaper photo editor and producer of an award-winning video production
for cable. I also started Richfield High School’s first video yearbook.
In the early 90s, I worked on a monthly cable TV show as an event
photographer and at Radio Shack selling technology gadgets while
learning Windows 3.1.
From 1994 to 2003, I opened Richfield’s Best Buy and worked in sales as
a repair technician and as Department Senior, learning Windows 95, 98,
NT, ME, and XP. In 2000, I joined Crosstown Camera Club to find my way
back into photography and video when Phil Johnson came to the club
meeting seeking help in Edina Art Center’s Peggy Kelly Media Art Studio.
After working at Best Buy, I took classes in Adobe Photoshop and Video
Editing at Minnesota School of Business. I started working at Edina Art
Center in 2003, and truly love it.”
