Bradley W. M. Benn
Brad was Assistant Director of the Edina Art Center for
nine years. His major responsibility during the time was managing the
pottery department where he maintained the equipment and built a large
gas kiln.
His pottery has two foci: functional pots including wine vessels and
decorative fish.
He has won awards at art fairs and juried shows. Brad has mounted solo
shows at the
Northern Lakes Center for the Arts in Amory, Wis. and the Eden Prairie
and
Edina City Halls. He has been artist in residence at Quadna Mountain
Village.
The fish, made in plaster molds cast from real fish, are all inscribed
with the Greek
word for “fish.” As time goes on, they continue to take on more
dimension as Brad works them onto his functional pots, making some of
the vessels more decorative.
Brad teaches beginning clay classes at Edina Art Center.
