Section 1020 - False Police Alarms


1020.01 Definition of False Police Alarm.
A false police alarm shall mean the receipt of an emergency response by the Police Department to an audio or visual alarm or signal from an automatic intruder or burglar alarm or a similar device set off by causes other than criminal activity.

1020.02 Fee for False Alarm. A fee in the amount set forth in Section 185 of this Code shall be payable to the City for the second and each subsequent false police alarm within a twelve-month period. The fee for an automatic police alarm shall be payable by the owner of the building or premises from which the false alarm was received and shall be payable within ten days after a statement therefore is mailed or delivered by the City.
